Providing digital coupons to guests
You can drive additional value for your guests by making digital coupons available to your guests through the Virtual Concierge. Here is how to do this:
Connect with local establishments like restaurants, coffee shops, attractions, tour operators or equipment rentals in your area that you recommend. Let them know that you will be sending business their way, and in return ask them for a special offer you can share with your guests as an additional incentive. For example:
- 20% off ski and snowboard rentals
- Kids under 7 eat free
- Buy 3 tour passes, get one free
- In the Management Portal, choose a content item or add a new one. In the Edit panel for that item, select "Show More Options". You will see an option to "Add a Digital Coupon". Simply enter the offer that you worked out for that establishment.
Here is an example:
Let's say you have a favorite pizza place called Hometown Pizza, and you've worked out a discount of 15% off any order with them. We can create a new content item with a title of "Hometown Pizza" and tag it with 'Pizza'. In the content field, a good description might be:
We think the best pizza in town is at Hometown Pizza. Our personal favorite is the pepperoni and pineapple. It may sound strange, but it is delicious!
Then, when guests ask the Virtual Concierge for a pizza recommendation, here is what they would hear:
We think the best pizza in town is at Hometown Pizza. Our personal favorite is the pepperoni and pineapple. It may sound strange, but it is delicious! We have arranged for a special offer from Hometown Pizza. 15% off any order. To take advantage of that, you just need to show them a digital coupon. Would you like me to text you the digital coupon?
If the guest says yes, the Virtual Concierge will ask for the number to send the digital coupon to. After receiving it, they can then show it to receive the 15% discount.
One additional note: Sometimes memorable experiences are more significant than discounts. Get creative as you talk to local businesses. Maybe arrange for a visit from the chef, or a song from the wait staff that is just for your guests. That's a recipe for a great guest review!
